Something has to Give

What will I give to do my best work and make my deadline?

I missed a couple of deadlines for posting my weekly blog.  When I did post a blog on Focus, it was not done. I waffled on whether it was better to do my best work or get my habit of posting weekly stuck-in?  If I want both, something is going to have to give.  When I consider I share, one of them is sleep. If I want more time to work, I need to spend more time sleeping.  Sometimes you have to give more to get more.  If I gave more time to watch movies, I would get less back.  Going to bed an hour earlier would give me more than an hour in the morning to work on my projects.  I can accept that as a considerable value.  Secondly, giving more effort to staying on task will also pay back more than I put in, to begin with.  I will provide myself with more Focus as a stacked habit. Staying on task is a skill I can give myself with practice.

This is not a situation of giving up something as negative experience.  I am not giving up any activity to make more time to do what I want.  When does that ever work?  Sure, some people have oceans of discipline to keep them on track.  That is not me.  I need to reimagine my day and the activities I participate in so that there is time to write good content and have it be ready on time. There are tons of productive ways to reach my goal.  They are almost all granular.  I don't want to say, "work smarter, not harder."  It's still hard work.  The work is all in my mind.  I need to be more clever than I am lazy.  Being more mindful does not mean I am wiser. It means being more aware and insightful.
