Leveling Up with Power Tools Breaking The Internet Again.

I have held off buying power tools my whole life. It seemed like having power tools and the skills to use them was jumping into the deep end of DIY culture. I am happy watching DIY on Sunday mornings with my husband. We watch other people do clever projects. As a child, my dad was not a big fan of me taking his power tools for a spin. I remember building a weight bench out of 2x4 lumber that stood the test of time but most of my projects were not so successful. What could go wrong?

The question that haunts me now is; What stops me from leveling up again with a pneumatic nail gun and a pickup truck once I have a circular saw? A line of commitment to construction beyond the Allen wrenches of a flat-pack Ikea kit. There is a good reason why I live in an apartment. Apartment dwelling is supposed to protect me from wanting all the adult toys of a homeowner. I'm supposed to be happy with clever solutions from a catalog. But things have changed now that I am the handy half of a home repair and decorating dynamic duo. My husband suggested we get a saw to complete a window AC screen project that requires cutting wood with a finer edge than my hand camping saw could pull off. As I am now the owner of a circular saw do you think as a buy more tools should be the same brand? What are your feelings about battery power tools? I am not a big fan because invariably when you need them they are not charged.

I have Broken the Internet ... Again. Glad I Got Started.

Youtube failed me. I normally have great luck figuring stuff out with a youtube video. I have a domain name that is supposed to be the address for my blog post. ktdonohue.com. I watched a couple of youtube how-to videos that made it look simple and easy. Then last week I started to fiddle with the settings and not only did I not make the link work, but I broke my access to admin.google.com. It's like being locked out of your car and the keys to your house are in the car which is where you left your car keys. So this week, I have been sorting that out. I need more vocabulary that makes sense to do an internet search for the know how I need to fix what I have done. Any internet youtube video that requires opening more than two windows to figure out settings is suspect of not being easy in my book from now on.

Question

I have a question about getting started. It's related to my IP address. But not a technical question. Is it better to get all sorted and have all your ducks in a row before you start a project? Or, is it better just to start and work things out as you go? Here is my deal. My IP address has not worked the way I wanted it to function the whole time I have had it. But I started writing the blog anyway. Now I am coming up on 200 blog posts. Had I waited to get my internet set up the way I wanted I would not have started yet. Jumping in, getting the ball rolling is the way to go.
